Efficiently Manage Subcontractors and Materials

Managing your subcontractors and materials can get really complicated. HeavyJob gives you an easy way to keep all that information in one place so both of the people who are in the field and who are in the office can access it whenever they want. Alright, so this is a quick walkthrough and it shows how to do that. Right now, we are on the HeavyJob mobile home page. Click on Material & Subs. Next, click on the Add button here and let's pick the number four stone and the 24" RCP. We'll hit next and here on the number four stone, we'll click a cost code and it lists at the very top of the list cost codes that have already been associated with that material. So it's really easy, you don't have to browse through a big list of cost codes. We'll input a quantity for receipt and a quantity for installed. A lot of times, you'll receive material that may not necessarily be installed on the same day. So this way, we can keep track of both of those quantities. Now, for the 24" RCP, click on the associated cost code and you'll notice that it pre-populates a PO number associated with this material which can help you track your purchase orders inside of HeavyJob. You can also choose a vendor, let's use one of our piping vendors. Let's pick Pipeland. Hit done and you'll notice that those materials are right there at the top. You can do basically the same thing for subcontractors. Let's change the cost type to subs and just to filter the list directly to just your subcontractors. Pick, let's say Blasting, then a cost code that's associated with your subcontractor. HeavyJob can show you how much your subcontractors have installed or completed for the day, how many people were on site, and the number of hours that they worked on site. In this case, you had four guys there for six hours, so 24 on-site hours. Once again, you can choose a vendor and make any notes as needed for this particular subcontractor. Let's hit done and go back to the main screen with everything ready to go. Hit the send button at the top right, and it sends it into the manager system. Now everyone in the field and in the office will be able to access the subs and materials information.
