Infrastructure issues are an all too common nuisance in the construction industry. Typical servers only last five to seven years, and small businesses account for 43 percent of data breach victims (according to Verizon’s 2019 Data Breach Investigations Report).
One of our customers, A Greater Austin Development Company, recently experienced a ransomware attack that took out two servers and all of their data files for HeavyBid and HeavyJob.
“I started noticing slowness when opening jobs on HeavyBid, “said Mike Moffatt, AGADC’s Director of Technology. “When I looked at the files to investigate, they were being written over in front of my eyes. I was trying to save whatever was left because we were bleeding to death.”
Moffatt immediately called HCSS Support, and his case was escalated to the Infrastructure Solutions Team.
Jason Tran, HCSS Senior Technical Support Analyst, re-installed both programs on AGADC’s new server and was able to restore many of the corrupted backup files to get them up and running again.
“Jason was gold,” Moffatt said. “I was extremely impressed. I wasn’t the only emergency on his plate, but he never let me down.”
