We're going to be talking about assigning work orders inside of Equipment360. This can be done using the Mechanic Planner function. Shop and fleet managers can assign, move, and view all items of work being performed inside the shop. Now the advantage of assigning work orders on this screen is that it also allows you to do some load balancing across your mechanics.
On the left side of the screen we have all of our unassigned work orders. While on the right side, we have a list of all of our mechanics. Under our mechanics are every actionable work order that they are currently assigned with as little or as much detail as you would like to be displayed. Now with the click of a mouse, you can take an unassigned work order, and drag and drop it to assign it to one of your mechanics.
The real power of this screen is that you can easily shift the work from one mechanic to another as needed. The Mechanic Planner screen gives your shop manager eyes and ears in the shop to see all of your mechanics, all of their work, and the current status of every work order all on one screen. Therefore, eliminating the need for phone calls and emails that you would typically deal with when using a paper manual process to get a status update from your team.
Use the Mechanic Planner view to balance mechanic workloads easily.
