Companies Describe Their Favorite HeavyJob Features
For managing the work, we use HeavyJob. Now, there's no paper documents. Everything's done with an iPad. It's a very powerful tool. - We use HeavyJob in the field. It's very proficient with their timecards, diaries. If you ever have to go back and reestablish any type of a change in the project, it helps us a lot. - It's a tool that I use to basically manage information coming from the field and going into our accounting system. - I would say the time keeping is where we saw the biggest bang for the buck in the last few years. We've gone from pen and paper in the field to basically a fully automated iPad time tracking system. - Time sheets have been a hassle for a long time. Now, he can load as many jobs in there as he wants for us, so when you go to that job, all your equipment's in there, all your employees are in there. You're not even writing, you're just pushing a button. - It's a huge advantage. One thing, you can really track how many minutes you've already done, how many more to complete it. There's another system in there you can find out if you're making money on the job or if you're breaking even or worse. Things like that, that's a big help. - For us, a management tool is huge. We look at production daily, every day. Our most difficult challenge is recording it, looking at it, evaluating it, and whether or not we're making production for that day. All that information comes in, we get to monitor the production and we get to try to red flag it in case there's an issue on the job that we have the opportunity to go out to the job site and correct it before it gets way ahead of us. - Accounting system we had before wasn't geared for construction so it's not unit rate based. One thing we like about HeavyJob, that it is geared to the construction industry so a lot of the things we come across that's unique to the construction industry is dealt with in HeavyJob, where it isn't in just your accounting software. - The thing I like about HeavyJob is that some of the reporting that I can get from it, like it'll pull this an Excel sheet. To me, it's a very simple process to gather it, to review it, to look at it. I use that first step in tool to reach out to my supervisor early on in the payroll process. - I think HeavyJob is gonna allow us to rely on all the information coming from the field to really have an automated connection between our accounting system and HeavyJob, so we can have basically a single point of entry, to really have a consistent method to measure job performance. - I think 10 years ago, the construction industry was so good that you had the markups where you didn't have to worry about it, and in the last 10 years, the market has gotten so much tougher that you have to be able to measure pretty much every minute of every day in your productions to make sure that you are performing within the estimated budget. That's the biggest thing that HeavyJobs helped us with, is managing our estimates and our budgets with our field crews.
