Recent commercial office, manufacturing facility, and residential growth required the City of Chandler, Arizona, to expand its water and sanitary sewer infrastructure leading to the initiation of this 20 MGD Ocotillo Water Reclamation Facility (OWRF) Lift Station, six miles of 42-inch Wastewater Force Main (OWRF to the City’s Airport Water Reclamation Facility AWRF), and five miles of 24-inch Water Transmission Main (McQueen Road to Dobson Road). The city chose Achen-Gardner Construction, LLC through a qualifications-based selection process, to provide Construction Manager at Risk and general contracting services for this critical project.
What makes it interesting?
The project team incorporated innovative design and construction techniques focusing on redundancy, flexibility, sustainability, and collaboration to meet the city’s budget and schedule requirements.
How HCSS Software assisted with this project
HeavyBid provided the ability to generate accurate bids quickly. This allowed Achen-Gardner to generate the volume of bids needed to be successful in today’s competitive market. The fact that labor, equipment, crews, and activities are maintained in a database helps ensure that their bids remain consistent.
