So this is our September HeavyBid webinar for all of our customers. I wanted to call out today, we're gonna be focusing on a new release that's specifically for our desktop customers. So we are going to show you we'll talk about and show you the new Web based HeavyBid. So you can officially today purchase a web subscription if you'd like to. So before we kick things off, Erin has a lot of good things to show you guys. We wanted to start with some introductions. My name's Melissa Teague, and I work on the product marketing team. I cover all of our estimating products and HCSS AI. And so my job is really just to connect with you guys, our customers, and learn what your day to day is and create helpful materials and webinars for you guys so that you can get the most use out of our products. And I'll kick it over to Aaron. Alright. Good afternoon, everybody. My name is Aaron Allshouse. I'm one of the PMs, here over HeavyBid. So, I get to listen to y'all. I get to chat with y'all, from time to time, figure out what works for you, what doesn't work for you, and hopefully make the product, a better experience for you as we continue on this journey together. Thanks, Aaron. And so today, like I said, we're gonna talk about the new release that's available for you guys, Web based HeavyBid. We're gonna talk about how to add it. We've made it very seamless for you guys. We're going to talk about how to transfer your desktop setups and basically how you can start using it today. And then we'll have a Q and A at the end. But as always, if you guys have any questions at all, please enter them into chat and we'll answer them along the way. So before we get into it, we wanted to just kind of highlight again, the legacy of HeavyBid. So how it's evolved over time. We've been in, we just had our forty year anniversary. So it started in 1986. And then along the way, we've evolved as technology has evolved. And so we recently, we've always had the on premise desktop version of HeavyBid. And so this year we have launched the web version and starting with the basic subscriptions, we'll eventually over time, we will have the advanced and comprehensive versions. But as of today, we have the basic version. And we launched this year and now our desktop customers, we have the functionality so that you can add a web based HeavyBid subscription. The bonus is that we made it as easy as possible for our desktop customers. So it's very easy to purchase a web subscription where you can just go into credentials and turn it on. We made it easy to transfer your desktop setups. And we made it very simple to where you can start using it today. And so if you're on this webinar and you're wondering, Okay, I have HeavyBid desktop. Well, why would I want to purchase a web subscription? There's lots of use cases that might apply to you. So one of them is, let's say you might have a new employee who doesn't currently use HeavyBid Desktop, and you're thinking, oh, well, the web is very easy to learn. Let's get them started on web based HeavyBid. Or maybe you have members on your team that work on simpler scopes of work. So that would be a perfect solution for them to get started estimating on the web. Or maybe you have multiple business units and the basic version of HeavyBid is a good fit. And then last but not least, maybe you just want to start using web based HeavyBid. You've heard a lot about it. We've been demoing it throughout the year during these webinars and you just want to get started. And so like I mentioned earlier, and Erin's gonna demo for you guys, we've made it very easy to where you can use it today if you'd like, if you purchase it. So an admin for credentials can go in there and turn it on today. If you, of course, you can't get started right until you have your setups in there, so you can call support, get your setups exported from HeavyBid Desktop, import it into the web based HeavyBid in about ten minutes or less. So that's going to be your master estimates, your code books, everything that you need to get started. And then once that's done, if you want to start playing around with it, learning how to use the tool, we have a lot of in app guides to where you can just follow along, start with step one, take and it slow, go as you please to start learning the product. And in addition to those in app guides, we also have HCSS Academy videos that will give you a step by step how to use the web based HeavyBid. With that, I'm going to turn over to Aaron who he's going to tell you, you might be wondering, Okay, well what functionality is in web based HeavyBid? He's going to walk through all the different areas so you can get a high level picture of what you can do in it today. All right. Thank you, Melissa. As you can see on the screen here, this is just a very quick list of high level summary of some of the functions and features that are available in the web experience strictly from HeavyBid. You'll see in here, you've got your basics in here, you've got labor equipment materials set up, you've got crew set up, work week calendars, all the same stuff that you expect and use on a day to day basis on the desktop experience. In HeavyBid, we are trying to tell the basic story. Now I preface this with basic story versus just going parody with HeavyBid basic version, because you're gonna see things in here that might not be available on desktop HeavyBid basic. But as time has gone on, they have become a requirement for what we consider a basic user. Things such as fuel cost breakdown, fuel consumption. In desktop, that's an advanced feature. It's part of the basic story on the web environment. But you'll see we also support unit price lump sum estimates. We also do native work breakdown structure in the web. Things like copying local setups to library, copying bid items activities across or within an estimate and across other estimates is also in there. Big things to point out. You'll see we have cost type pricing with markup same as what you have in in desktop, but we also have markup all the way down to the resource level, giving you extreme granularity. And when we get to do cool stuff like an undo and a redo, I know that's something that our desktop users have been asking for for for years and years and years at this point. We have it. We have it on the web. In quotes, we've got material quotes. We'll have subcontractor quotes very shortly. We can't we have automated quote creation. We have our system wide vendor database. We also have thrown some AI into the mix. We have the ability to extract quote prices using AI. So within that quote sheet, you upload a document. You can actually run AI through that document and pull the prices out versus having to read it yourself and input them manually. You can let HeavyBid do that work for you. And then all the same native functionality that you have come to to know and expect in desktop. So import and export from Excel. Same with CSV. You can dump your budget from HeavyBid to HeavyJob. We actually have made that native integration and we do direct communication. There's no import export file anymore. Again, we have our cost report, the the bread and butter report of HeavyBid. We've also brought in the audit trail. If you are a desktop user, you know that is a comprehensive feature. Every user on in the web experience gets that right out of the box. And we also have AI audit trail analysis. You'll if you've ever tried to read an audit trail, you know it's a lot of lines showing you all the changes, but sometimes it's difficult to make heads or tails of what those changes are. The AI audit trail analysis looks at that and gives you a summary based on a time period that you define of what changes were made so that it's much easier to read what's all in that audit trail. Erin, we did have a lot of questions come in. We want to answer some of those. So one of them is, Does this apply to on prem installs? We have an on prem multi user setup, the customer said. This is what we're talking about today is how to get started in the web for our on prem users. So that's if you have a either a self hosted or a cloud hosted standalone or multi user environment. This is how you can make use of both environments. As Melissa pointed out in one of the earlier slides here, this is for users that want to get started in the web. They have estimators that aren't currently using the desktop, but they want to get them off Excel. This is for customers who have a smaller company or smaller division that maybe doesn't need all the horsepower of HeavyBid desktop, and they wanna start making use of the web experience. So you can still use both your desktop and the web environment. Let's see. I see other questions here. Can you use web based and desktop HeavyBid? Or once you migrated, everyone has to use the web version? No. You you can use both. They are completely separate environments at this point. So you can still continue to use your desktop environment as well as use the web environment. And you can use the desktop for for any bids you want, or you can jump to the web and use it for any bids you want. However, whenever you start a bid in desktop, you cannot continue working on that in the web in the same is true in the other direction. If I start a web estimate, I cannot go into desktop and open it up. Let's see. I wanna just add on to that, Erin. Yeah. So this is just a reminder to everyone. This is not, you know, where we're taking desktop customers and migrating you to the web. Right? This is not, it's literally an add on, right? So you continue to do your work in desktop, you have your desktop license. And then, if you want to also estimate on web based HeavyBid, you can purchase a web based subscription. Alright. Continuing on some of these questions before we actually dive into the software. Do you still have to manage and maintain two systems if you're using HeavyBid Desktop and HeavyBid Web? Answer to that, Jason, is yes. It is not an automatic sync, but we are going to walk through how to get your setups from desktop to web and make sure that that is a pretty seamless transition. And then follow-up, are they independent from the on prem installer integrated? Is web multi user? So they are completely independent from the on prem install, But it is a multi user environment. You can have as many users as you want in in the web environment, or as many users as you have seats for. And just like a Google Sheet or Excel Online, we show you the users that are logged in at any given time. And if you're in the same bid or on the same screen, you can actually see what cell that user is in and making edits to. Is there a way yet to import old estimate information into web? So that's a two part question. We're going to cover setups today, and estimate history estimates are coming. They are going to be part of the copy functionality. We are in active development on that as we speak, and that'll be available here in the coming weeks. Alright, I think that's all of the questions at the moment. So, Melissa, I'm going to steal the screen from you and we're going to jump right into it. Alright. So the first thing that we're going to take a look at here is HCSS Credentials. This is where we start everything. This is how you're actually going to turn a license on for the web environment. As Melissa mentioned earlier, you need to be a HCSS Credentials admin in order to access this. So if you are just a a standard HCSS Credentials user, and the easy way to tell that is if you log in to HCSS Credentials, you don't have any of this. That's an easy way to tell that you are a user versus an admin. Easy way to start. Once you're in the subscription group, we're gonna come up here and we're going to create a new group. For today's example, I'm just gonna give it a name of hybrid. And in this case, we're gonna build it from scratch because we're gonna start all the way through the process. If you have created other user groups in the past where you wanna copy them, you can start with an existing template and choose any of those templates. And it basically creates a mirror image of those. We're going to start from scratch today. Now, if I want to from here, I can go in and I can assign any users. I don't have any users to assign, so we're going to ignore that piece right now. And let's go ahead, let's refresh, because I think I timed out here. I left this window open too long. Don't you love doing things live? There. There we go. Now things are loading up for me. So if I wanted to assign any users, I could do that here. And that's as simple as clicking a checkbox, clicking create group. And now we have the screen that we're supposed to see. So I think we just had a timeout issue beforehand. But the big kicker here is you're gonna see two new boxes here of what products you are enabling for this user group. The first one is our Precon legacy, and our platform new is our new option. So if you've used a free or paid Precon in the past, that is now precon legacy. That's going to continue to allow you to use the free versus paid option. But if you want to make use of the new web platform, you want to make sure that you are selecting HeavyBid with the new tag on it and platform new. We're going to click add and it's going to give you one more option to select. So with the web experience, there are three tiers. The first one is just HeavyBid preconstruction basic. That gives you access into the precon or the project tracking module. That gives you all the same functionality that you currently experience on the precon side. We also have a Quotes Basic, which gives you access to the quote system and the precon module. That is great for anyone who whose sole responsibility is creating and soliciting quotes. And then we have the fully leaded option, which is our estimating basic tier. That's going to give you full access to the web experience. That's what we're going to select for today's example. Now there's no additional modules at this time. We're going to go ahead and click add product. Now, we're going to click save. Well, before we click save, I want to point out here, you cannot have a HeavyBid Estimating Group permission and a HeavyBid preconstruction on the same user group. You have to choose one or the other. Now you can have different groups with different levels of permission, but you have to choose only one per particular group. So we're gonna save that change. Now you'll notice here, I don't currently have any any license counts for for the web environment. So you're gonna get a message stating that you are exceeding the license count. Due to the action you're performing, additional charges will be incurred. This is not a free license. This is a paid license. So when you select this, you are signing up for a new license of HeavyBid. So we're going to go ahead, we're going to click save. And now we have enabled that for this group. The next step is jumping over here to our HeavyBid permission set. When you enable that permission, you're gonna get two permission sets by default. You get an estimating basic admin and an estimating basic default. Your estimating basic admin is full permissions across the board. Your estimating basic default is a slightly reserved version of that. If I want to create new access groups, I'm going come up here and select new access group. But for the purpose of today, we're going to take a look at our basic default. And you'll see here, it's gonna go through and it's basically gonna give us all of our general permission. So we have our view estimate permission, our edit estimate, our export to HeavyJob. We have our production history permission in here. We have different functions for quotes permissions, as well as our precon permissions. And then jumping down, this is where we are going to come in and assign any additional users that we want to assign to this particular subscription. At that point, you have assigned the permission set for everything that you need in order for a user to get access to the web. So if I've assigned that user here, as long as they know their username and password to their credentials login, they can access HeavyBid. To access HeavyBid, it's simply going into a new tab and going to heavybid.com. Now you can key in the long URL, but if you simply put in heavybid.com, it's going to automatically navigate you to the project list. And you'll see the new tabs up here for estimates and quotes. That's how you get access into into HeavyBid. Now, the next piece of that puzzle is how do I get my desktop setups from a HeavyBid desktop into web. Now, we can go into our libraries and we can set everything up manually. And you are absolutely welcome to do that. I don't recommend it because depending on who you are, that can take you weeks. In this case, we're going to jump into desktop, and through a quick call to support, you can get a utility that's called export to HeavyBid. You're going to throw that in your bin folder and support can walk you through this as well. But all we're doing is we're going go up here and we're going to go to tools and run HCSS program. And within the program, it's exp2hb. That's our export to HeavyBid utility. And once you select that, it's going to ask you for a decode. And it's we put this tool behind a decode because we are it's part of our security process to make sure that nobody unauthorized gets access to this. Long story short, what this tool is doing is it's going to scan all of your master estimates and grab your calendars, your OT rules, your labor equipment, crews, your material code book, your activity code book, and your bid item code book. And it's gonna put it into a nice, neat, little zip file, making it very easy for someone that shouldn't to run off with it. So we're gonna make you call support, get this decode, support can get the decode in the span of about a minute in order to generate that file. So give me just a second. I'm gonna run the decode here. Let's see. While you're doing that, Erin, another question came in. It is, why would you want to use both desktop and web? It seems overly complicated. Why would you want to use desktop and web? Well, if I have a large desktop environment, what we have heard over the years is that frankly, desktop might be too much for some simple projects. I might want to come in and use the web environment for a much simpler project. I have some newer estimators that don't necessarily wanna use the desktop experience. They want something new and potentially a little more modern user experience. The web environment is perfectly suited for that. If I have a company that I want to acquire and put them on the web environment, I can do that as well. So, once we come through and we put in our decode, it's just simply gonna ask us one simple question, and that is, where do we wanna export the data? By default, we're gonna put it to your default export location that's in your user preferences. For today, I'm just going to throw it right on my desktop. And it's going to tell you the data will be packaged into a zip file for import into HeavyBid. Click yes to proceed. And now that data has been exported. It's going to show you exactly where that data was saved. And if you want to click in that zip file, you can click the link to open it up. And then if you want to click the link to follow it to the web import, you can do that. I'm gonna ignore that for today because we're gonna navigate to it the old fashioned way so that everyone can see where to go. So at this point, we're gonna click okay. And we're done with HeavyBid Desktop for for today's purpose. Again, this is not to replace desktop. This is to augment your experience by allowing you to use the web environment for any additional purpose that you might find it valuable. So, within the web environment, again, that's heavybid.com, I'm gonna come up here to my hammer and screwdriver, select it, and I'm going to click on libraries. This is your library. Now think of this as your desktop code books, your material code book, your activity code book, your bid item code book. You'll notice here we have a lot more options on the on the web experience because we are doing away with the concept of master estimates. You do not need a master estimate in order to estimate. Everything that would have been in a master estimate is going to be part of the libraries. So from here, we're going to navigate to other setups. And right at the very bottom, there is an option for desktop import. So we're going to select that, and then it's going to bring into our import module. So the first thing we're going to do is we're going to find that zip file. And in this case, we're just going to select that zip. And now it's going to ask us what are we importing. So as we mentioned, it's going to grab everything from your master estimates, and it's going to grab everything from your code book. So calendars, OT rules, your labor setups, your equipment setups, resources, crews, activities, and pay items. If for any reason you already have anything in your libraries, it's going to overwrite anything with a matching code. We source everything based on code. So if you have, you know, LG for a general labor in your labor setup and you have one in this x in this import file, whatever is in that setup in the library will be overwritten with this. So, this is just something you want to make make yourself aware of if you're going to be doing this multiple times. Now, quick and easy, I'm going to go go ahead. Ahead. Apologies. I just I have we did have a question come in and wanted to call it out for every everyone on this webinar. Adam said that when he attended UGM, he heard of the web version being basic and not really a right fit for larger projects with more complexity and wants to know, are all HeavyBid functions available in the web? And is web essentially an add on? Web is not necessarily an add on. It is its own product. And the answer to the first question is still, it is not at full parity. We do not have all of the same functionality. So, if you're a comprehensive user making use of say, joint venture or risk analysis or solicitation or something like that, we don't have all of that functionality in here yet. It is 100% coming. So what I encourage is if you have questions about existing functionality or a feature that maybe you use on a day to day basis, shoot me an email after this webinar or give a call to support. Ask, you know, hey, is this feature in the web environment? And if not, then we can tell you no, but we can also probably give you a very rough ballpark of when that feature might come. Thank So. You, Aaron. We have two more quick questions. One is, can we just do a fresh setup in the web environment rather than importing setups from our legacy environment in case we want to revisit the setup decisions made ages ago? Oh, absolutely. You are not required to import your desktop setups in any way, shape, or form. This this process is is strictly for the users that have spent the time curating their their master estimates and their code books on the desktop, and they don't want to do that again. If you want to take the time and and kind of rethink your your library strategy, you are absolutely welcome to do that as well. Thank you, Aaron. And last question. Can you export the information via API from desktop? You can export the codebook information as a read only API up to to estimate history. And you can modify the resource code book and bring that back down into desktop. It does not come into the web environment. Thank you, Aaron. And there's one more. I think it's the elephant in the room. And the question is, will desktop eventually be phased out? And the answer is The answer is yes. Desktop will eventually be phased out. Now that is the very short, very quick answer. The real answer is we have no intention at any point in the near future to drop support for desktop. What we committed to at the last UGM for anyone that was here in town hall is we have committed to maintaining a three year road map for desktop for everybody in this room. And part of that three year road map here is now at the end of the next three years is to begin discussion on what a sunset of desktop will even look like. So for the next two years, desktop is business as usual. You're gonna get annual updates. You're gonna get new features. You're gonna get maintenance improvements. And then in year three, we will continue to bring in new features and maintenance improvements, but we will actually begin discussing what that looks like. Now that discussion is going to be an extremely long drawn out process. But at the same time, if Windows comes out at Windows 13 or whatever they call in the next couple of releases, and they drop support for for HeavyBid, then we might need to accelerate that. But at this point, we have no intention of sunsetting desktop in the in the near to medium term future. Thank you, Aaron. And the very last question is, let's see here, will there be right access API tools integrated in the future? In the future, yes. All right. Thank you. Any other questions before we continue? I think that's it for now. Thank you. Okay. All right. So once we've selected what we want to import, we're going to simply click next, and we're basically going down the list here. You'll see the list on the left. And for lack of for lack of a more creative approach, you need a calendar and OT rules in order to potentially bring in labor if I have override OT rules. I need labor and equipment in order to bring in crews because I need those for my crew resources. So that is based on essentially just order of operations. Bring in an OT room before you bring in labor, bring in labor and equipment before you bring in the crews. You gotta bring all those resources in before you bring them into the activities and pay items, etcetera. So that's why we have it in this list. So in this case, first item we're going to bring in is your calendars. With calendars, we support single shift calendars in the web right now. So if you're using shift two or shift three calendars or off shift work, we are not going to bring in those calendars. So from this case, I'm just simply going to select a master estimate that I want to bring these items in from. Calendars typically are going to be the same between the estimates, but I do know that some of y'all have unique calendars depending on where you are, the types of scopes you work on. So once I select my master, I can import them. It's gonna bring in my records. But if I need to bring in a different set, I can click the drop down and repeat this process as many times as I need to. Once I have done the import, I can go ahead click next and move on to my next option. Again, overtime rules. We're going to give you some information about things that might not be brought in. In this case, overtime rules referencing shift differentials or referencing bonus hours. Those are comprehensive features in desktop. We haven't brought those into the web experience. So those OT roles will not get brought in. Again, we're just simply gonna select our master, click import. HeavyBid's going to read it. It's gonna give us a nice little summary of what was brought in. And we're going to rinse and repeat. Now, labor, labor is drastically different from the desktop experience. In desktop, one of the main reasons for having multiple master estimates is I have differing labor rates. In the web, we are taking a very drastic difference in approach. We are implementing something called rate sets. If you have, if you use HeavyJob, this is a very similar concept to how they handle different pay class rate sets. Essentially, you have one master labor list, and you can have multiple rates tied to that same labor class. That allows you to tie that labor class to your crew. It allows you to tie it to your activities, etc. And then you can work independently with different rates versus having to replace everything all at once. Makes it very easy to update your annual rates or your biannual rates, depending on how often you update, without having to do it multiple times. You do it once from one location versus multiple different master estimates. So for today's demonstration, I'm just simply going to bring in my OneBridge sample data. And for the rate set name, I can call it whatever I want. If I want to call it default, if I want to call it prevailing wage, non prevailing wage, if I want to give it a union labor rule, I can do all of that here. For today, I'm just going to call it default. Scroll down, click import. It's going to bring in all of my records. Once again, I'm going to repeat the process. And we're going to move on to equipment. Again, we get basic rent rate, EOE rate, we get hourly fuel rate. We do not get rent breakdown values. We do not get equipment analysis. We do not get EOE breakdown because we don't have that functionality in there just yet. Now, once you have made a selection on labor, we're going to repeat that selection for equipment. We're assuming that whatever you were selecting for labor, want to repeat for equipment. However, you can very easily change that here if you choose as well. Again, import, we're bringing in all of our records. The whole point here is that you do not have to try and figure out what information I need from desktop. I don't have to do any data mapping. All of that information has been done for you. Another cool thing is, as we continue to build out more and more functionality in the web experience, that same export out of desktop has every bit of information out of desktop. As we're building those new functions, think rent breakdown. If I'm doing monthly rent or weekly rent rates for my rented equipment, I don't have to redo the export. I don't have to get an updated file from support. I can just come in here, rerun the import, and get that additional data from desktop if I choose to. Now, resources. Resource pulls from the Material Code Book. So we don't have additional options to choose from. However, with resources, we also have rate sets for resources. That is going to work out if you have a vendor that gives you a price list, you can bring in different prices per vendor. One of those items that we're going to do in the future is allow you to automatically pull plug prices from specific vendors in your quote system. This is the first piece of that. However, pulling in from desktop, we need to assign a rate set. By default, we're just simply going to call it plug. But again, you get to choose to whatever it is that you want to call it. So we're going to select plug, we'll hit import. And in this case, I brought in 180 material records. Now we move on to crews. Again, crew codes, descriptions, labor equipment, resource assignments come in. We do not have a place to do our adjustments yet on the web, so we're not bringing those in. In this case, again, I'm just going to select the master I want to bring them in from. Go ahead, click import. And again, my crews come in. We had a question just come in, Erin. So do all users online use the same libraries, or do libraries need to be exported separately? Do all users use the same libraries? All users within a business unit use the same library. So libraries are business unit specific. Yeah. Alright. Activities is going to be the easiest one. You do not need to make any choices. You just need to click the import button. In this case, we basically give you the we tell you if a crew production type does not exist in the web environment, we're going to import it as blank. So if for whatever reason you're using a crew production type that does not exist in the web experience, it will just import as blank. However, you will get the rest of the activity information. So, again, we brought in our 56 activities. Now, last but not least, our pay items. Now, pay items and bid items, between desktop and web essentially amount to the same thing. However, we are handling the pay item library different from what we handled or how we handled it in desktop. In desktop, you have one massive list of all of your bid item codes from all of your different DOT entities, all of your different owners entities, and they are separated by a state grouping code. In the web, we are separating them out by owner. So for instance, Texas would essentially fall into TxDOT or Texas Department of Transportation. And then we give you the ability to have multiple versions. If you are a TxDOT customer, I'm just using them because, you know, we're in Texas and and this was fairly recent, so it's still in memory. About every ten years, TxDOT updates their their bid item list or their pay item list. They did it once in 2014. They did it once again in 2024. That pay item structure is drastically different between the two. However, when they released that, they still had active lettings using the 2014 list. We want you to be able to keep both options, so that in the event that you still need that old list, you can use it. So for today's demonstration, I'm just going to select HH and I'm going to call it hybrid. Now, if my owner does not exist, which my owner pulls from contacts, which you can already sync between desktop and the web experience. I can create that new owner right in line here. I do not need to exit in order to create that new owner. So I'm gonna create my owner. My owner code is hybrid, and I was gonna call it my hybrid experience owner. Now I need to give it a version. Do I want it to be my 2026 version? Do I want it to be my default version? The version is entirely up to you on how you want to name it. So again, we're just gonna call it default. I'm gonna click import. And now I have imported my pay items. Now we've gone through. We've imported everything. And at this point, we can click next one more time, and we're gonna get an overall summary of everything that was brought into, brought into our libraries. So everything from pay items all the way down to a simple calendar were brought in. We can click finish. And now you'll notice my pay item library. I have my hybrid library, and I can see all the items that were brought in. All of my linked activities were brought in. I can see those items right here. If those activities have crews and productions tied to them, that's all in my activity library. So I can jump over here to my activity library. I see all that information here. I can see my crew. I can see my other resources. Whatever is assigned to that particular activity is automatically brought in. All of all of my setups, labor, my labor list, I can jump into and see that labor list and see that rate set with that unit cost tax and fringe. Everything automatically gets brought over, making it very easy to get started. I didn't have to do 10 or 12 different exports. I didn't have to do any kind of data mapping. HeavyBid did all of that for me. So by and large, that is how you get started by turning on a new web license and importing your desktop data. One other piece that I do wanna show you is under the question mark here, we have a self guided help option. Within there we have under managing projects, estimate creation, we have a lot of different options to help you get started with setup, getting an estimate built, importing pay items. So manually creating them, importing them from Excel, using quick pricing to create your proposal items, etcetera. We also have playlist on the HCSS Academy with feature videos on how to use these functions as well as access to our past webinars going over all the different features and functionalities that have been built over the last calendar year in HeavyBid as well. All right. Great. Thank you, Aaron. We have a question. Okay. What about the different miscellaneous cost types? Can HeavyBid on the web handle those miscellaneous one through three yet? No. So miscellaneous cost types are an advanced story item. Those will be tackled in the upcoming upcoming year. We know we need to handle those, but those are not in the web experience yet. Right now, you have labor, equipment, materials, subs, other. Thank you. Alright. I'm gonna share my screen now. So Erin just showed all of you guys, you know, how can you turn on in credentials? How can you transfer your setups? Again, if you if you can easily call support and they can transfer your setups for you. But if you wanna do it yourself, we do have if you scan this QR code or you can find it in the if you just go to the HCSS Academy, We do have videos for you where it shows you how to turn it on and how to export your setups from desktop and import it into the web. And there was also a lot of questions in the chat about pricing, how much does the subscription cost. And I want to just mention that, yes, please reach out to your account executive and they can talk to you more about that. Also, if you want to see it more, see a demo of web based HeavyBid from start to finish, they can do that for you as well. And then like I just mentioned, if you do get set up, you turn it on, can always call support. They're available 20 We have their number here as well as their email. And also quick reminder, we have it's UGM registration time. So that is creeping up on us very quickly. So February fifteenth through eighteenth is our users group meeting. So you can register today by scanning this QR code. So I'll leave that up here for a few seconds. Okay, and then before we sign off here today, if y'all have any more questions, please let us know. Okay, we have one. Will you be showing a basic estimate building routine, tree view, bid summary, and bid pricing screens? That was not on the agenda for today, but we are happy to show it. I can take a take a few minutes, walk through that, and we can go from there. So Melissa, if it's okay, I'm going to steal the screen back. And Jason, to answer your question, HeavyBid 2026 is not out yet. That will be coming in the Q1 release, so right before UGM. So I'm going to jump in here and we're going to take a look. I'm going to jump to a different business unit that has some different sample data. And we're going to jump right into one of our previous estimates. So this is kind of where the tree view is going to start. You're going to start in the build screen and this is where everything begins. You'll notice the tree view looks pretty similar to what you see in desktop. Each of these are your pay items. I can expand that, and I can see all the different activities. If I click on a pay item, I can see a list of those activities. I can also see the crew, quantity, unit, calendar. I can see all of that information. I can see my cost. I can see my markup. I can see my price on each activity. All that information rolls right up to the pay item along with the unit cost, pay item markup, unit price, and again, total cost, total markup, total price on a pay item level. If I wanna see cost breakdowns by cost types, I can see all of that information here. So labor, you've got your labor hours, hours per unit, dollars per hour, etcetera. And same with equipment costs. If I jump into any of my particular activities, again, you have your top level activity information. I can expand that to see my crew information, my drainage crew, my productivity. I see my different productivity categories. So hours, units per hour, hours per unit, shifts per unit, shifts, units per labor hour, labor hours per unit, crew hours, all the same crew productivities you get in desktop. My production rate, my hours per shift. So units per labor hour, we'll say, you know, where are we going to? 1.5. And you'll notice everything here recalculates in real time. I do not need to run a summary and spread. I can go ahead, I can make all those adjustments. I also can see my other resources. So my number four stone, inlets, anything that is not part of the crew. We broke it out on the in the web environment because over the course of the last several years, we got calls from many customers asking us if I'm updating the production rate, why isn't it updating the quantity for this resource? Well, that resource wasn't part of the crew, so we wanted to make it a point to draw a better distinction in the web experience versus the desktop experience. I can go through here. I can make all of those different adjustments. You'll notice down here I have my indirects right in line in the tree. They are no longer their own bid item as you have in desktop. It's its own category in web. Within the indirects, I can go in and I can create my small tools or I can go ahead and I can create any regular activity. Within those activities, I have the ability to have add ons. I have the ability to have other resources. I can do crew. I can do simple unit cost estimating if I want to. And that's just my total labor multiplied by or divided by quantity, give me a unit, or I can do straight unit information to get that unit cost and multiply it by the quantity to give me my totals. With the add ons, this is something that we have taken a drastic departure from the desktop experience. For anyone here that uses desktop, you know that add ons are their own category in the summary window. Now they are simply an activity in the web experience that gives us a lot of flexibility into how things are costed, how things are added up, and how the cost is derived. So you'll notice here under my add on, I get my same basis information that I get on the desktop experience. Add But I also get to choose what information that information is based on. So I can have total labor, but I can have that total labor based on just my direct cost items, the entire estimate, the entire estimate without other add ons. This particular pay item, this activity, specific tag information, I get to choose how granular I want that information based on. I can then go in. I can specify my amount, and I can specify that amount on either the cost or the price. And then I get to choose whether it's a cost or a price. If this is a bond item, I can choose it as a bond item, and I can base it on my bid total actual or my bid total suggested. And then I get my bond table. Now putting the bond in the add on here, again, allows us some flexibility here. I can now have more than one bond table per estimate. If I need to direct that bond to any particular item, it's as simple as dragging and dropping it to whatever pay item is going to have that bond. I don't have to go in and specifically direct it. I just drag and drop it to wherever it needs to go. Now, those are just some of the quick features in the build screen. Estimate review. This is the main screen you're going to get. It's gonna look very similar to the desktop total screen under the summary window, but with some additional information for labor, equipment, add on information. I can see my cost breakdown, my price breakdown, and within my cost and price breakdown, I get additional detail for labor and equipment. I also get this nice little pivot report down here that allows me to see information based on however it is that I want to see that breakdown. And then I get a nice little pinwheel over here that gives me my cost allocation. If I wanna see all of my material cost, the the right side grid is automatically filtered to that. I can expand it, see that information, and drill down, see what information it is that I want. If I want to dive into that, I can click the link, it takes me directly to that item. And then we also have our flashlight utility. So in estimate review, we help you catch some of the potential errors. We're doing the exact same thing here. We're gonna show you the markup with zero. We're gonna show you empty pay items. Lump sum quantity not equal to one. Some of the basic things you might wanna go and look at. If I have anything that matches that, I'm going to get my list of items. I can go ahead, I can look at it. If I have looked at it and I've addressed it, it'll disappear from the list. If I have chosen to ignore it, I can simply click the Reviewed and it will be removed from that list. Pricing is going look very much the same. You're going to have all the same categories that you know and love. So direct cost, direct unit cost, etc. If you want to make adjustments, I can come over here to my actual markup. I can adjust that. I can also adjust my entered unit price. If I want to adjust desired bid, I just simply come in here and hit whatever amount that I want. My net difference changes, shows me how far off I am from my bid. Again, all of that is exactly the same as what you come to expect in desktop. With my closing account routine, we give you a little bit additional flexibility here. As we go in and we make changes, we're gonna show you in live time the adjustment dollars that are being added or deducted from each individual pay item before you commit those changes. So as I go through, everything updates and I can see those changes happen in real time. I can save my change. And now everything's going to update and now I am much closer to to that total dollar. One feature that I actually really like in the pricing screen that makes figuring out where you might have some discrepancies where math might not be where you might not think math is adding up is in my show calc. And that is this rounding difference. We can actually show you the total dollars that are being rounded in this bid. So if I have something that's coming out to a tenth of a penny, we have to round up or round down. And it's going to show you that total and it's also going to show you that difference for every individual pay item. And then last but not least, have our proposals. If you want to make it as complex as you want, you can do that. You can also make it as simplistic as you want. Right out of the box, we have the concise proposal on desktop. We have essentially mimicked that functionality here in the web experience. Alright. I know we short on time. I know that is maybe a nickel tour at best of the web experience. But hopefully that gives you a look into at least how the product looks and feels. Thank you, Aaron. Okay, I think that's it. We hope you guys enjoyed seeing this demo. And again, if you have any questions at all, please reach out to your account executives. Thank you for your time. Thank you, everybody. Have a great rest of the day.
In their September webinar, HCSS introduced the new Web-based HeavyBid (Basic tier) as a flexible add-on for existing desktop customers, emphasizing that it acts as an independent environment rather than a forced migration. Built for onboarding new estimators, managing simpler project scopes, or running smaller business units, the web version introduces modern capabilities like real-time multi-user collaboration, resource-level markups, AI-driven quote extraction, and AI audit trail summaries. Admins can quickly configure user permissions in HCSS Credentials and transfer their legacy Desktop setups—such as labor rates, equipment, crews, and codebooks—in under 10 minutes via a built-in support utility, all while HCSS maintains its commitment to supporting and updating the core Desktop software for years to come.
