People are often amazed that I let employees take 25-minute spins in my fresh-off-the-lot GT4 and wonder why I would do that. The answer is really quite simple: without our employees and what they do, I wouldn’t have the means to own such a nice car.
When I started HCSS, wrote the software, and took support calls 24-hours-a-day, my goal was to provide great estimating software and outstanding support to make sure estimators could bid more work in less time and always be able to turn them in on time. Today, 32 years and six more products later, our employees take over 50,000 calls a year and still regularly go out of their way to help customers with issues even if they have to stay late, come in on weekends, or take evening or weekend shifts. I couldn’t ask for more. It is a matter of appreciation.
I also enjoy the car and want employees to as well. Many of our employees cannot drive a 6-speed standard shift, so employees who can drive one volunteer to take them for a spin (some sacrifice, right?). Most employees do take a passenger, and I love seeing them enjoying the car together.
