Maximizing Your Software Usage with HCSS Consulting Connect

HCSS customers gather in Denver, Colorado, for the first-ever Consulting Connect to learn best practices and take full advantage of existing tools.

From headquarters in Sugar Land, TX right outside of Houston, HCSS is recognized as a pioneer and leader in construction software, with thousands of companies relying on the platform daily for all of their industry needs.

HCSS launched a new initiative this year, Consulting Connect, to host customers at venues across the country to leap forward in how they collect, use, and make decisions using HCSS solutions. In April, the HCSS Consulting team kicked off its cross-country tour in Denver, treating customers to a fun and interactive learning experience in the signature HCSS style. This event took place at Top Golf Centennial in Colorado, and of course, there was great food and networking at the 2-day event, marking the first of many nationwide.

The HCSS Consultant group is made up of the most requested and most experienced implementation specialists. At these events, they share their decades of experience with what has worked and what has not. They set attendees up to take what they learn and teach it back in the office to immediately put into action.

“Our goal behind this program is to elevate our customers' knowledge of using HCSS software by learning best practices from both HCSS Consulting and their peers in their industry,” says Lewis Frey, Manager of Consulting Services. “During this 2-day class, we aim to open their eyes to what's possible, give them ways to improve, and then send them off on a path to implement what they learned.”

And in this case, we brought members of our entire operation, as we would normally for our annual HCSS Users Group Meeting (UGM). HCSS employees from Customer Success, Implementation, Consulting, Sales, and Product were on hand to greet customers and ensure they had everything they needed to get the most out of the two days.

Michaela Halliwell, HCSS API Platform Product Manager, joined the team and taught the latest advancements to HCSS Insights, a PowerBI solution that is included with every HCSS license.

Customers from six different states came to Colorado to learn from this event. One customer commented that the sessions helped them see things in HeavyJob that they did not know existed. Another attendee expressed appreciation that they could ask as many questions as they wanted and not only learn from HCSS but also talk to each other. Some even admitted that they didn’t realize how much more automation could do for them to allow one person to do the job of many, saving time and money where they didn’t know they could save.

Matt Fidler, HCSS Consultant and Fleet expert, describes the purpose of Consulting Connect as a way to help customers understand their HCSS tools' capabilities and help them understand some actionable next steps to get more out of their software. By arming customers with a path where they can access deeper insights to the tools they already own and interact in an intimate setting where everyone can be seen and heard, HCSS can provide a learning experience that is not so big that it loses its personal touch.
