Bart BarrackBart Barrack
Bart has been working in the heavy/highway construction industry since 1979. He earned a bachelor's degree in Landscape Construction with a minor in Finance from Mississippi State University and a master's degree in Education from the University of Mississippi. His formal education also included advanced language training courses in Spain, Mexico, Ecuador, and the Dominican Republic. He served in the Peace Corps and is fluent in Spanish.

Bart has worked for several construction companies in Seattle and San Diego in various positions including operator, foreman, estimator, and project manager. Bart has estimated projects with and has trained over 120 HCSS clients since 1992.


Pat HarkinsPat Harkins
Pat has worked in the Heavy/Highway industry for more than 30 years. He has held many different positions during his career including: Laborer, Construction Engineer, Estimator, Project Superintendent, Project Manager, Construction Division Manager, General Manager/CEO, and Construction Company Owner. In addition to training for HCSS, Pat specializes in Heavy/Highway engineering and consulting through his company Harkins Engineering, Inc.

Pat holds a Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering and is a licensed professional engineer in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Montana.


Gary KercherGary Kercher
With nearly 30 years of experience in the Heavy/Highway industry, Gary has held various positions throughout his career. He currently is president of his own consulting company and has been a trainer with HCSS for over 10 years.


Arthur NixArthur Nix
Arthur Nix worked in the heavy/highway construction industry for 11 years before starting an engineering firm serving the development market in central Florida. He has a degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Florida, is registered as a professional engineer in 23 states and Dubai, has a Florida general contractor’s license, and is licensed as a LEEDS Accredited Professional. He was an engineer or project manager on projects ranging from land and marine bridges, a railroad intermodal facility, an industrial waste treatment plant, local highway projects, and subdivision developments. Arthur has worked as an estimator for three contractors, estimating for both domestic and international markets, and was an HCSS trainer from 1990 to 2001.


Rich HolmanRich Holman
Mr. Richard G. Holman holds a Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, an MBA from Seattle University, and a PhD in Construction Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in Scotland. He has experience in the estimating and management of numerous heavy civil and industrial construction projects, some valued in excess of $140 million dollars. Mr. Holman is a Professor of Construction Management at California State University, Chico and has been the President of Construction Solutions, a Construction Management Consulting firm located in Northern California, for the last 13 years.


HughHugh McCulloch
With over a decade of experience in the construction industry, Hugh has been a trainer for HCSS since 2001. He acted as president of independent construction consulting firm performing training on estimating software and estimating department development for heavy construction and engineering companies for the 5+ years prior to coming to HCSS.

Hugh has worked in all of the following areas of construction: general road construction, grading, estimating and contract administration. He has a strong interest in computers and was previously responsible for company-wide PC support and estimate automation, project management and purchasing for different companies.
