Standard Features

HeavyBid comes in 3 levels each designed for a different size contractor. The following lists are not intended to be exhaustive, but show major features to give an idea of what the software does. HCSS is constantly adding features to meet the needs of our customers.

Features standard to all systems (starting at $4,500):

• HeavyBid uses biditems for unit priced bids, with unlimited activities per biditem, and unlimited resources per activity.
• Unlimited notes about the job, any biditem or activity within a biditem.
• Create an unlimited number of estimates any size you need, whether from scratch, other current estimates, or backups.
• Backup, Restore, and Delete Estimates
• Unlimited number of labor and equipment rate tables.
• Items can range from pennies to $10 billion.
• Secure estimates with password protection.
• Copy entire estimates, individual or multiple biditems and/or activities from previous estimates
• Easily change resource cost and have it apply throughout the estimate.
• Labor and equipment can be combined to create crews to use as short-cuts for building estimates. These crews can be entered into the estimate with any of 9 productivities ($/unit, mh/unit, unit/mh, shifts, units/shift, shifts/unit, crewhrs, crewhrs/unit, unit/crewhr.)
• Very flexible labor overtime techniques.
• Multiple Bond Tables.
• Enter Job Overheads, Addons and Bonds as Indirect costs and apply them to the rest of your items using one of several prorations.
• Apply Optional Sales Tax or Escalation on all Resources.
• Compute Addon costs that are a percent of virtually any type of estimate cost.
• Calculate markup by cost type and prorate to all Biditems in several ways.
• Any item, such as Mobilization, can be set to a % of the job value.
• Check your estimate and let the system take you to each questionable location allowing you to make any corrections necessary.
• Import from and Export to Microsoft Excel.
• Export Bid information to any Microsoft Excel bid proposal template, or Customize a bid proposal.
• Export budgets to Quickbooks Pro Accounting, PeachTree Complete Accounting, or HeavyJob Field Management Software.
• Create custom Checklists.
• Indicate both biditem and takeoff quantities and see the impact any differences have on the bid.
• On the Pricing screen, change any bid price and see the effect on the bid.
• A built-in routine can quickly round bid prices.
• Equipment can be identified as owned or rented and rates can be split into ownership and operating costs.
• Work up and review alternate costs of biditems which can be toggled as not included in the estimate totals.
• Unit cost entry screen for items where detailed costs are not required.

• Elaborate Quote Management System for contractors who take dozens or hundreds of quotes per estimate.
