Give Foremen Instant FeedbackOne of the most valuable things about HeavyJob is that it provides foreman with instant feedback on productivity and how they are doing compared to the bid. This is valuable information when planning out work on the jobsite or communicating to estimators the actual production on a job compared to what was estimated. These features were designed with the principle that a more knowledgeable foreman is a more effective foreman. The Production Planner allows you to create "what if" scenarios in order to see how future production may affect the bottom line. This allows the foreman to prevent the job from falling behind or going over cost before it actually happens. If falling behind, foremen can see how changes in crew or equipment could affect cost and production over time.
In order to view immediate job progress from the time card, a foreman can view the Production Analysis. This screen displays each cost code, the percent complete each cost code is, and the variance in cost between actual and what was expected. Any cost codes that surpass the expected cost have their variance displayed in red so they are easily indentified. This analysis can also report on difference in man hours or units per man hour.
From the Production Analysis screen, foremen can select a cost code and press the Estimate Resources button to view the resources used in the estimate for each Cost Code and any notes that go along with them. This information comes over directly from HeavyBid when creating a job.
The Production Analysis screen also allows some flexibility in how the information is viewed. The foreman may view more detailed information by individual cost code, view the analysis over different time periods, and choose to analyze by different criteria such as Man Hours/Unit.
For example, if production is falling behind on a cost code, the foreman is able to see that happening immediately. If he knows that adding another excavator to the crew working on that cost code will increase production, then he can do it immediately and fix the problem before the work is complete and he is several thousand dollars over budget on that cost code. This invaluable tool will help your foremen make informed decisions to make changes immediately in the field to keep their job on time and on budget. |
