Quickly Start New Estimates

HeavyBid uses master estimates as a template to create new estimates. This concept allows you to have multiple master estimates, each with custom settings and setup information tailored to a particular type of construction, union or owner. Some of the information that can be set up in the master estimate include:

• Labor
• Equipment
• Crews
• Markup percent and spreads
• Indirects/Overheads items and spreads
• Taxes, Bond, etc.

Creating a new estimate requires just a few simple steps.

1. Name the new estimate
2. Pick which template estimate to use
3. Modify any labor, equipment,etc. that is unique for this particular estimate
4. Set up or import your bid items and start costing

Setting Up Your Bid Items

Another way that HeavyBid saves you time is to allow bid items to be quickly imported from Microsoft Excel or from many Department of Transportation websites. If they have already been setup bid items can also be pulled in from the Biditem Codebook.

You are now ready to start costing your bid.
