Many Levels of Estimate Detail

HeavyBid estimating software gives you a wide range of options when building Biditems, giving you the flexibility to construct all types of estimates.

The Estimate Entry Screen allows you to build several levels of detail within an estimate. This ranges from a single level of detail under each Biditem to complex multi-level parent-child detail per Biditem. The simplest method for adding cost into a Biditem is by adding a single level of cost detail in the form of an Activity. You may also add multiple Activities that role up to the Biditem cost.

Complex estimates with several levels of detail can be created by using Parent-Child Biditem relationships. In between a parent Biditem and the Activities that make up the cost, you may enter up to eight levels of child relationships.

For example, you may have a bid proposal with a Biditem for Bridge Structures however when building the cost you want to have several levels of detail such as East Abutment and West Abutment. Under each of the child items you may have more levels of child items or Activities that contain cost. All Activity cost within all child items role of to the parent to be priced. At anytime you can view the cost breakdown at any level.

HeavyBid has several tools to make the Estimate Entry Screen easy to use. For example, you can filter down the items to view, such as, items designated for a particular estimator or items for a particular type of work. By using the filters feature, you may use several filter options to help reduce the list of items thus making building and reviewing estimates easier.
