Houston, TX, January 25, 2008 - HCSS was recently named number six in the 2008 Best Companies to Work for in Texas program. HCSS also made the list in 2006.

HCSS, along with companies from across the state, participated in a two-part process to determine the winners. The first part consisted of evaluating each company's workplace policies, practices, philosophy, systems and demographics. The second part consisted of an employee survey to measure the employee experience. The combined scores determined the top companies and the final ranking.  The survey findings reported that HCSS employees were most happy with the flexibility and authority to quickly address customer needs, relationships with their supervisor, care for co-workers, flexibility, and benefits.

“It has always been a priority for us to create a great workplace,” said HCSS President Mike Rydin. “If is reaffirming to see that the employees recognize and appreciate things that usually aren’t so common at work. I’m excited that we have received such a high honor, an honor that comes directly from our employees.” 

This survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Texas, benefiting the state's economy, its workforce and businesses. The list is made up of 75 companies split into three categories: 20 small-sized companies (25-74employees), 25 medium-sized companies (75-249 employees) and 30 large-sized companies (250 and more employees). HCSS was named sixth in this year’s Best Companies to Work for in Texas in the medium category.

Best Companies Group managed the overall registration and survey process in Texas with assistance from ModernThink LLC, who analyzed the data and used their expertise to determine the final rankings.

The rankings are published in a special section in the February 2008 issue of TEXAS MONTHLY and the ranked companies were recognized at a gala awards luncheon on January 25tht at the Renaissance in Austin.
