E.S. Wagner Wins Big With HeavyBid!

E.S. Wagner Company a heavy/highway contractor from Oregon, Ohio, now in their 54th year of business, recently won the largest transportation contract awarded to date by the Ohio Department of Transportation in a joint venture with The Beaver Excavating Company of Canton, Ohio. The project, ODOT 19901 State Route 30 in Wyandot and Crawford Counties, involves the construction of a new 17.9 Kilometer expressway from US-23 to connect into the Bucyrus Bypass. The new construction includes two rest areas and interchanges with existing US-23 and SR-231 and the completion of an interchange with existing US-30. The project is scheduled to be finished in November 2003 and will significantly aid the flow of through traffic on US-30. With a project of this size and scope E.S. Wagner and Beaver Excavating appreciated having a specialized estimating tool like HeavyBid to estimate and bid the job. Using HeavyBid, the two companies were able to download the 600 plus bid items for the project directly from ODOT and import them into HeavyBid to begin creating their estimate. The project, which included sixteen bridges, also involved managing quotes from subcontractors in nearly 100 quote classes. E.S. Wagner easily handled this using the built in subcontract management system in HeavyBid. The sub can then work up a quote using HeavyBid/Express and send it back to the prime in one clean, easy to manage format.
