Customer Profile: Trucco Construction

Trucco Construction has used HeavyBid to estimate and bid projects since 1999. As his company has grown HCSS has been there all the way. President Mitch Trucco states, "The thing I like best about HeavyBid is the power of the system and the flexibility it gives our estimators. When HCSS came out with HeavyJob Trucco took advantage of the tool to provide the company with daily job site reporting and analysis. Foremen who may never have used a computer find it easy to use," says CFO Dave Veppert. Project manager Dave Marino explains how HeavyJob saves times in many aspects of their work. "HeavyJob is a huge time saver for us. HeavyJob takes about five programs used to manage a project and combines them into one user-friendly program. Eliminating paperwork, getting everything electronically from the foreman, and having it e-mailed to me so I can check it and send it to the office saves a considerable amount of time." It's no surprise that when HCSS introduced The Dispatcher, Trucco Construction came on board. The Dispatcher is giving Trucco yet another edge on job cost. "The Dispatcher has got so many options, your inventory can all be kept on it. There are so many things to it, the magnet board, the planner, the maps," notes Dave Adams, dispatcher. "I can easily see where things are. I don't have to call and verify which location, a couple of clicks on the screen and I can see where the equipment is. I love the magnet board view, it's like my old schedule, only more powerful, everything is there that I want to see. It's a simple click and drag from location to location. It doesn't get any easier than that." "Our project managers and laborers like it, because I can just hand them a map with directions and they can go directly from the yard to the job site." "For myself, The Dispatcher is a big time saver. I'm done with the schedule before noon, where in the past, I might have been in the office till 9 p. m. just to set the schedule for the next day." "We think The Dispatcher works better for us in scheduling than Microsoft Project and are hoping to completely replace it." Adams concludes, "If you can move a mouse you can use this program."
