The position requires a talented conceptual estimator who has hard-bid work experience. Seeking an experienced professional to work in our Phoenix, AZ office who plans, coordinates, and directs full estimating services on large, complex and high risk types of projects. The position requires the preparation of project proposals and cost estimates for a wide range of complex Industrial/Mechanical projects. The position will also involve the review of plans and specifications to determine the suitability of the project for Cianbro and the availability of resources to bid the project and prosecute the work.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

1. Identify scope of work and perform quantity takeoff from RFQ information for piping and mechanical systems on industrial projects.

9. Ensure that estimates address all potential safety risks and concerns.

12. Prepare proposals, and include information to document the basis of the proposal.
13. Ensure that proposals meet company and regional financial goals, and that contractual requirements of the project are acceptable.
14. Maintain base bid documents and organize estimate information.
15. Coordinate with the Cianbro operations team on successful bids to provide a thorough transition to the project team.
16. Assist the project team by providing technical guidance on the project delivery in terms of means and methods for successful bids. Continue this support for the duration of the project on smaller jobs.
17. Support business development with technical information and client meetings as requested.

Requirements:

A four year degree is desired, a minimum of 5 years of field experience on heavy industrial projects, and 2 to 5 years of experience estimating mechanical projects.

This position requires strong computer skills, familiarity with scheduling and estimating software (HCSS) and MS Office, and strong conceptual estimating skills.

This position is based out of Pittsfield, Maine with occasional travel within the region and to other regions within the company required.
