Responsibilities

Project Dimensions has an immediate opening for a Heavy Civil Tunnel Estimator with over seven years of estimating experience on heavy civil tunnel, underground, shaft, bridge, dam, concrete, steel, pile driving, and coffer dam projects. Candidate must have experience working with/for a heavy/civil contractor.

Candidates must have strong computer skills, and familiar with scheduling and estimating software programs including (HCSS) and MS Office. Candidate will establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards. Initiate and maintain liaison with client and contractors, to facilitate construction activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identify scope of work and perform quantity takeoff from RFQ information for heavy civil tunnel projects
  • Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials, indentifying qualified subcontractors; negotiating price
  • Work with owner/client, coordinate with field operations, create and manage schedules, and attend project meetings
  • Prepare special reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Prepare construction reports and plans, including work plans, safety plans, quality control plans, and SWPPP plans when required
  • Identify project resources required for the project based on the scope of work
  • Develop project schedule and schedule updates
  • Manage the project to the approved project budget and scope. Manage project change orders

POSITION SUMMARY

Manage technical aspects of projects and is responsible for technical assignments and overseeing work. Work with senior level Project / Technical Managers to coordinate with clients and assist in marketing activities.

  • Monitor and control project costs, schedules, and profitability estimates to meet financial commitments.
  • Develop, train and supervise lower level associates.
  • Actively support marketing efforts by participating in professional and technical organizations as appropriate.
  • Actively support proposal preparation and identify new opportunities with existing and new clients.

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in geology or geosciences with 10+ years of experience, or
  • Master Degree in geology or geosciences with 8+ years of experience
  • Knowledge of RCRA/CERCLA and other applicable federal and Texas laws/regulations related to remedial actions.
  • Minimum of five (5) years as the technical lead in planning and implementing of geoscientific investigation projects similar in complexity to Superfund investigation projects. OSHA 40 Hr. HAZWOPER Training.
  • WRS New Employee Safety Orientation (NESO).
  • Professional Registration as Texas Professional Geoscientist required.
  • Appropriate Certifications for other disciplines, as appropriate.
